Jason and Ashley Mitchell stood there, staring at the house of their dreams. Since they had gotten married three years ago, they had dreamed of finally owning a house of their own. Their apartment was fine for just the two of them, but they would need more room once they decided to start a family. Their plan had been to save as much as they could so that once their student loans paid off they could put a sizable down payment on a house.
That day came sooner then expected when Ashley’s father died of a massive heart attack. Adam Parker had been a wealthy businessman and when he died his fortune had been divided among his three children. With proper investing, each of them would be set for life. Jason and Ashley decided to save the money, preferring to make it on their own. It was nice to have something to fall back on. Before they set it aside, they paid off their debts and decided to touch the money one more time.

The house was a castle compared to their apartment, with ten bedrooms, two basements, and ten acres of land. There would be plenty of room for them and their future children. They fell in love as soon as they saw it, and as the real estate agent showed them around, they loved it more and more. By the time the tour was done, they were ready to write a check.
Ass they sat in the agent’s office, about to sign the papers, he held the forms and looked at them.
“Before you buy this house, I need to tell you about it’s past.”
